Public holidays close the exchange for the whole day, even when they fall on a weekday. On such days no pre-open, main session or closing auction takes place. The status line reflects this, so a closed reading on a weekday usually points to a holiday rather than a fault.

- Pre-open means orders are being gathered ahead of the session.
- Closing auction means the final price is being settled.
- Closed means the trading day has ended, the week has ended, or a holiday applies.
